My Ode

The heart of the Lord is wiser than wisdom.
Because in the Lord's heart, wisdom is begotten.
From the mouth of the Lord, truth is proclaimed,
and all that speak truth tell about the Lord's mouth.

O Lord, let me walk in the footsteps of Solomon,
so I may taste the delights of thy Spirit.
And arm me with the courage of Saint Michael,
so I may be a fearless servant.
Fill mine eyes with thy glorious light,
so I may not walk in darkness,
but let me follow steadfastly the path of righteousness.

O Lord, you are my fortress invincible.
You loved me first, therefore I know the fear of the Lord.
All you ask of us Lord, is to love you.
Please, accept my soul as a flowering garden
that I kept diligently for you to inhabit,
So I may never be without your presence.

O Lord, I have taken your fruit and tasted your word.
Accept me as a sacrifice, ready to be offered.
Make me holy, O Lord, so I will not be ashamed in thy presence.
When thy judgment cometh, I will know the fruits of my mouth,
for I am truly my brother's keeper.
My heart yearns to know the joyous dwelling
That is with the people whom I love.

I love my enemies, O Lord, those who did mischief against me,
because I was not of the world, therefore the world hated me.
My enemies wanted to feast from the table that you have prepared for me.
They love death, and I know why.
Their heart is full of poison, and they walk in darkness.
You are righteous, O Lord;
You will release your vengeance upon them,
So they will be acquainted with the portion of their own house.

Please forgive the sins of my youth.
Regardless of my confusion, I drew close to you Lord,
And you washed me clean.
Lead me onto the path of righteousness.
Let me tell not lies, nor to do what I hate.
But make my heart delight in continuous worship.
